Turkmenistan: ADB support TAPI gas pipeline


( By Shahid Qureshi – London Post )   President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimukhamedov received Vice President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Wencai Zhang, reports the press service of the President.

Vice President noted interest of the leading regional financial structure for further development of productive cooperation with Turkmenistan during the meeting.

The sides exchanged views on prospects and opportunities to strengthen bilateral relations, including implementation of the large-scale reforms.

In this regard, Wencai Zhang said ADB intends to continue providing technical and financial support of implementation of major investment projects, including the construction of TAPI gas pipeline.

Berdimukhamedov in turn noted Turkmenistan is ready to consider new proposals on cooperation presented by ADB.

Among the priority areas, banking and financial sector, fuel and energy complex, transport and communications were determined by the sides following the meeting.

The Asian Development Bank also plans to support small and medium enterprises in Turkmenistan, as well as training programs, says the message.
