This what is been going in Islamabad the capital of Pakistan in past few weeks. A parliament emerged as a result of widely rigged and managed elections held in May 2013 cannot and should not claim legitimacy in the first place. It is a fraud with the nation committed by the elite of Pakistan with the help of ‘mafias’ deeply involved in funding and investing on politicians.
The emergence of mafias is another phenomenon especially land mafia – which is working on the formula of ‘rob million people and share with few hundreds in power, judiciary, police, establishment both civil and military and live a happy honourable VIP life.
All the big crooks and cons have state and political protection and public can go to hell – where they are already in due to the corruption. More corrupt one is more chances of emerging as a leader of Pakistan – people are not shy of their businesses – like a truck driver said, ‘my owner give me cash before leaving the station to pay on all the check posts until I arrive at my destination’. They can’t make a ‘direct debt’ into the accounts of the high and mighty who take their share of this collection hence ‘black economy’ flourishes.
The most worrying thing is that Pakistani society has accepted corruption as an institution and practice religion as a separate entity? Those who advocate that religion and politics should be considered as two sides of the same coin must reconsider this narrative. The reason being that almost all the police stations and courts, government offices have their own Masjids and appointed imams but no is getting justice and fair treatment from police, judiciary and government. That proves that people in power has accepted 5 times prayers as a duty and corruption as profession. This does not mean that religion has failed it’s the people who turned against it? Politicians and people in power are making trips to Makkah at the expanse of poor taxpayers?
Pakistanis are most generous people in the world when it comes to charity work. The flip side is that they don’t trust the politicians and governments with their money so most find their own ways to help the poor and needy. The credibility of the politicians and trust on the governments is non-existent.
Pakistan is run by the mafias at the moment that is no one the federal government is asking for the return of US$200 billion in the Swiss accounts deposited by the Pakistanis stolen from the nation exchequer. They are not even making a request as to find out how many Pakistanis have accounts in the Swiss Banks?
The so-called elite is not only toxic and cancerous but also contagious. It was alarming to hear that these people were funding all parties involved gang war, drugs smuggling, human trafficking and money laundering. It is not mere coincidence that we find them in all financial scandals and money laundering. They are the one who are real gangsters as they go with everywhere in various disguises from masjid, maddrasa to nightclubs and brothels.
I was studying and dealing with the so-called business geniuses aka “Shylocks of Pakistan” in Karachi for some time. People find them racist to bones and in the words of Shakespeare – The Merchant of Venice (I, iii, 35-39):
“I will buy with you, sell with you, talk with you, walk with you,
and so following; but I will not eat with you,
drink with you, nor pray with you.”
We find these characters in all the political and religious parties in Pakistan. The current crisis in Pakistan is although damaging but good thing coming out of this is that it is exposing all the characters, assets, agents and beneficiaries inside and outside of Pakistan: A senior political analyst explained this in the following words:
Don’t be so emotional about Imran Khan or (Prime Minister) Nawaz Sharif but try to understand the real GAME. This Circus is not Nawaz Sharif Vs. Imran Khan or What THEY are cooking for Pakistan:
“1. USA- Block Chinese investment and interest in Pakistan, booster Jews interests and capitalism, so that Pakistan should economically remain on US mercy.
2. England – Create wedge in Islam, to block so called Fundamentalism/extremism. Only way is to boost firqa against Shariat Muhammad and creating dith in Islam like Qadiani, Gohar Shahi Firqa and Gullu Qadri Firqa.
3. Iran- Block growing relation and investment between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, to settle enmity want to eliminate Saudi financed firqas from Pakistan.
4. UAE – Gwader should not be operational to ideal capacity and must not be linked with tail network with rest of Pakistan, as China intend to do. Development of Gwader mean death of Dubai.”
Now what politicians could do to regain confidence of the people on the system Pakistan? They should reduce the term of the parliament to 4 years, and start electronic voting as well as compulsory voting for all the voters. Otherwise people are already thinking that Pakistani elite and politicians are doing in the name of democracy – in the words of Lord Nelson:
‘If you can’t baffle them with brilliance than dazzle them with Bullshit’.
