Defence writer Commodore (Pakistan Navy) (Rtd) Tariq Majeed passed away

Famous defence analyst, author and columnist Tariq Majeed (Rtd) Commodore (Pakistan Navy) passed away peacefully at his residence in Lahore Pakistan. He was born in Lahore on 23 August 1937, studied at the Government College Lahore before joining the Pakistan Navy. He was graduate from the US Naval Command College and MSC in War Studies. He participated in the 1965 and 1971 wars with India.

He served as director Pakistan Navy Staff College and was Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Administration). Commodore was prolific writer on global issues and has followings worldwide in defence and security circles. He authored famous books ‘The Global Game for a New World Order’ and Masterminds of Air Massacres of 17 August in Pakistan and September 11 in America’.  

Senior officials from Pakistan Navy War College in Lahore attended his funeral on behalf of the Naval Chief.

For me personally Commodore Tariq Majeed was a great senior old Ravian, mentor, writer and academic. May Allah Bless his soul and award highest place in heaven. (ameen).
