Dawn Leaks – Nawaz Sharif did not fulfill his promise: annoyed the security establishment

By Dr Shahid Qureshi : –

Nawaz Sharif’s Indian infested team of ministers continuously attacking the armed forces of Pakistan while they are fighting on Eastern, western and internal fronts. The narrative mentioned in the ‘Dawn Leaks’ is continuing as business as usual to date. The shameless thing Nawaz Sharif did to Pakistan on the issue of ‘Dawn Leaks’ was that it did not full fill the promise made on the condition if Maryam (Nawaz) Safdar’s name is dropped in the original investigation report of the JIT (Joint Investigation Team), He will prosecute all others under Army Act.

According to electronic evidence, audio and video recordings and testimonies of the suspects, Maryam Safdar was running a cell to malign the armed forces and ISI at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad. This evidence is enough to arrest her and others under the Army Act and put on trial in the military court. The journey of the Dawn newspaper story from mastermind to editor’s table had enough filters and it could have been ‘killed’ but all involved were on the same page.

At that time some elements with close relations to both Sharifs and Security establishment came forward to find a middle ground because there was no way out but to indict Maryam Nawaz -Safdar. To find a middle ground grovelling by Sharifs was actually a spin which people in security establishment could not see coming.

The agreement according to sources was: “Maryam Safdar’s name would be dropped on the condition if all the others involved put on trial and brought to justice. Sharifs agreed with that but later betrayed the agreement and everyone involved in the ‘Dawn Leaks’ was freed with the ‘slap on the wrist’. That further enhanced the confidence of the corrupt and compromised Indianized Sharif regime as no one can touch them. You gave them an inch and they took the mile.

To catch a criminal, one should think like a criminal but the gentlemen in uniform were tricked over and again. The people who built their empire on the government stolen gutter tops and especially Pakistan Railways scrap were never gentlemen but criminals. Their journey from petty criminals to white collar and later red collar ‘mafia don’ have made them hard core international mafia criminals.

It is important to see that same officers who investigated Dawn Leaks were also involved in the JIT of Panama case against Nawaz Sharif.

The people who worked hard day and night in the compilation of ‘Dawn Leaks’ JIT report must be heartbroken after seeing Maryam Safdar ‘master mind’ going scot free. No?

Now we have volume 10 of the Panorama Leaks JIT report submitted in the Supreme Court which is not been made public. That volume consists of all the wheeling and dealing of Sharifs with Indians and others.

That could also be seen as compromising the national security interests of the state, one rule for the rich and other for the poor. There is another lesson for the so-called mediators or peacemakers in ‘Dawn Leaks’ is that ‘next time when you decide to help someone always look at the ‘pedigree’.

Pakistani security establishment trusted Nawaz Sharif as a gentleman that he will fulfil his promise and indict all the culprits but once a crook always a crook. He betrayed again.
