Iconic cult film Pulp Fiction celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Palme D’Or victory at the Cannes Film Festival last night. In honour of this special occasion, Quentin Tarantino, Uma Thurman and John Travolta treated the world’s press to something of a mini red carpet cast reunion.
Sure, they were basically thunder-stealing at the Clouds of Sils Mariapremiere but that’s ok… it’s the stuff Tarantino fans’ dreams are made of!
Among the hordes of celebrities and lovely L’Oréal Paris brand ambassadors, Hollywood royalty Uma Thurman was every bit the silver screen siren, draped in a canary yellow Atelier Versace gown. Her effortlessly glamorous hairstyle and sophisticated makeup positively glowed in the Mediterranean sun, especially when she started dancing with Mr Tarantino.
If you thought Mia Wallace was gone for good, think again!
After the red carpet shenanigans, a beach-side screening of Pulp Fiction was held to officially commemorate the aforementioned Palme D’Or anniversary. Naturally, a costume change was in order. Swapping yellow for black, Uma’s second look of the evening was just as beautiful as her first, if a little more sombre. As far as beachwear goes, it was unconventional, but this is Cannes so one must go glamorous or go home!
Of all the film screenings throughout the festival, this one might just be our favourite. The very concept of reclining on a beach in the South of France to watch one of the best-loved films in cinematic history (perhaps with a glass of champagne to hand) sounds like a great Friday night out! Jealous, us? You bet we are.
