(Queeta, Pakistan) : Home Minister Balochistan, Sarfaraz Bugti, on Tuesday sought a ban on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), claiming that the party was involved in countrywide terrorist activities, Samaa reported.
Addressing a news conference in Quetta alongside military officials, the minister informed media persons about anti-terrorist operation carried out by security forces in different areas of Balochistan.
Bugti claimed that Indian intelligence agency, RAW, was involved in spoiling peace in Balochistan through terrorist activities.
At the same time, the minister also claimed that MQM was involved in sabotage activities not only in Karachi but across Pakistan.
“MQM should be declared a terrorist organization and banned in Pakistan… The BBC report has proved that MQM is receiving funds from India,” he asserted.
On Wednesday, British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) claimed in a report that MQM leaders have received funding from Indian authorities. British authorities investigating MQM for money laundering also recovered a list of weapons from MQM office, the report further said.
MQM brushed the report aside terming it “a poorly sourced table story”. – Samaa
