(London Post) James Duddridge welcomes all party signature of Malian Peace Accord and reaffirms UK support for Malian-led implementation.
I welcome the signing by all parties of the Malian Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation. The signature of the ‘Coordination’ armed groups on 20 June now joins those of the Malian government and the ‘Platform’ armed groups.
I thank the international mediation team, and particularly Algeria, for its leadership of the peace and reconciliation process.
I urge all parties in Mali to work together to implement this Agreement in an inclusive and timely manner. It must be a Malian-led process. The UK will work alongside international partners to support the Agreement.
