London Fashion Week kicked off today with supermodels taking to the catwalks and fashionistas flocking to the capital to get a peek of next season’s trends.
The annual event started with a collection from Seoul-born designer Jackie Lee and her eponymous label, J. JS LEE.
One of the first shows was put on by designer Eudon Choi, and it attracted the likes of Yasmin le Bon and Amber le Bon, as well as Made In Chelsea’s Lucy Watson.
Models are showcasing designs for autumn/winter 2015 on ramps under a large black tent that has been set up in London’s historic Somerset House.
Fashion bloggers and aspiring designers were seen strolling around the showrooms to see what will be inspiring the season’s trends.
On the first day of the event an astronaut landed to take a look at what was going on, and had a go at strutting his stuff in an impromptu catwalk show in the square.
Dogs seemed to be the accessory of choice, with “puppy delevingne” making an appearance, as well as a number of French bulldogs.
People queued throughout the day to get into the catwalk shows, which over the course of the week will include collections from designers such as Jasper Conran, Julien Macdonald and Matthew Williamson.
It will end on February 24 with the Elle Style awards, followed by the World’s First Fabulous Fund Fair, an event aimed at raising money to support children with special needs.
