Dr. Dariga Nazarbayeva (PhD), Chairperson of the Eurasian Media Forum, officially opened the XIV Eurasian Media Forum In Astana on 22 June 2017. Dr Dariga is the eldest daughter of H.E. President Nursultan Nazarbayev and is a media enthusiast. She seems to have greater understanding about role of media in the digitally changing world. She is preparing the next generation of journalists and media persons of Kazakhstan who will have multinational and multi dimensional experience in media and psychological warfare.
In her welcoming speech, the president of the committee forum noted that the media today has a great responsibility – indeed, journalists are at the forefront of information wars.
The Eurasian Media Forum is an international discussion platform, which every year brings together more than 600 delegates from 60 countries.
The Forum is an open dialogue on the most pressing topics of the present, with the participation of the most significant figures in the global media space, opinion leaders and recognized professionals in different fields.
The Forum started its activity in 2002 with words of welcome from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and since then has established itself as a macro-scale event with a range of influence covering political, economic and social issues.
In the past 15 years it has created a new channel of communication between representatives of the largest international media structures and world-class opinion leaders.
The Forum owes its inspiration and its development to the founding Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Doctor of Political Sciences Dr. Dariga Nazarbayeva.
While speaking to Dr Shahid Qureshi during the first session chairperson of the Eurasia Media Forum Dr. Dariga Nazarbayeva said: “I am pleased that you have come to the Forum and you are welcome to Kazakhstan.”
