Making the greatest contribution to the export of the Turkish ceramic, bathroom and kitchen industry, UNICERA Istanbul is expecting more than 100 thousand visitors from 130 countries this year.

Turkey has a history of ceramic production reaching back thousands of years, from the primitive sculpture of prehistoric Anatolia to the ornaments and crockery of the Hitites and the ornate hand-painted tiles of Iznik. During the middle of the 20th century, the era of mass-production began as Turkish ceramic producers, built factories to manufacture ceramics on a large industrial scale. Since that time the quantity and quality of ceramics being produced in Turkey has continued to grow. Since Turkish ceramic production was industrialised in the 1950s, the country has rapidly increased its share in the world ceramics market and is now a global competitor in the production of ceramic tiles and sanitary ware.

Turkishceramics is undertaking its activities under the umbrella of Ministry of Trade and representing all ceramic manufacturers and exporters in Turkey and it is the only Association in Turkey in this field. Representing over 30 individual companies, Turkishceramics’ mission is to raise awareness of Turkish ceramics abroad and promote the quality of Turkish ceramic tiles and sanitary ware.

Turkish ceramics are continually being chosen for the most progressive new buildings and the finest renovation projects. Collaborations with leading international designers have resulted in Turkish manufacturers producing some of the most innovative and forward, thinking ceramic products of recent years. This creative approach has resulted in numerous design awards and accolades.

Today, Turkey is the top producer and exporter of ceramic sanitary ware in Europe and the 3rd producer in ceramic tiles in Europe. Turkey is currently the world’s 5th biggest exporter in both ceramic tiles and sanitary ware. Turkish ceramics are exported to almost 180 countries, spanning every corner of the modern world.

The main goal of Turkishceramics is to raise the awareness of the quality of Turkish ceramics around the world. Turkishceramics undertakes many activities to communicate to a global audience, from participating in trade fairs to organizing design competitions, hosting exhibitions and trade missions.
