By Dr Shahid Qureshi :-
Pakistani so called politicians are reactive, corrupt, cowards and selfish. Pakistanis have loose lives and limbs like in Quetta killing on 8th August 2016, as well as sacrifice their children like in APS school massacre in Peshawar to get their attention. Pakistani politicians are cowards and they were protecting the criminals and murders all along and left poor people at their mercy. Zardari banned executions with his lies about the EU sanctions.

EU never asked or instructed Pakistan to stop hangings as they told me last year. Until you start hanging these convicted criminals publicly like many countries. They can do it outside their jails in each district by reading out the crime committed and court order. Pakistan will remain at the mercy of mafia dons like Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari. After all visual impact will be far more effective in a criminal lead country like Pakistan. As happened in the ‘papau murder case’ when a child was murdered after sexual abuse’. After the public hanging not a single incident happened for over a year in Pakistan.
Pakistani courts let 3 out of every 4 terror suspects go says US State Dept. A US State Department report said that Pakistan was incapable of prosecuting terror suspects, since three in four defendants are acquitted. NCD data suggests that 65,446 murdered, 16,448 women raped, 88,161 kidnappings between (2008 – 2013). All that happened when democracy was in full swing.
Dr Mazahar Illahi a senior lawyer and academic of Institute of Advance Legal Studies, University of London said: “US courts co-operated with the executive during and after the revolution on the issue of hangings as ‘special measures in special circumstances”.
Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zaradri are two sides of the same coin as well as dons of various mafia groups in Pakistan. They are not democrats or politicians at all and as US President Harry S Truman said: “you cannot get rich in politics unless you are a crook”. Since you are a general and may not be able to deal with these crooks as some times use of common sense is much better than intelligence.
I am sure you must have realised that these so called crook politicians are involved in sabotaging every single effort leading to the stability of Pakistan. An US senator told my friend in Washington about Nawaz Sharif: “we need those idiots and crooks” so that answer your question why US and West fully supporting crooks abroad but jailing them home. It is about who serves the interests as it is not a moral or ethical game.
Surely Nawaz-Zardari plot to convert Pakistan Armed Forces into their mercenary militia like they have done it with the police of Pakistan. That is the root cause of all the major issues Pakistan is facing from terrorism, bombings, killings, kidnappings all is happening with the support and blessings of ‘police and politicians. Pakistani police have become a ruthless militia run by the criminals in uniform serving the highest bidder. A police station which sold with a price cannot give you authentic and credible policing and protection to the people and state. The income goes upward within the police ranks and files as well as to the politician sitting as protector.
A crime reporter can tell you what is the current rate of the SHO (police Station House Officer) appointment in your local area and where GHQ of the Armed Forces is located as well as where ISI headquarters is in Islamabad. Can you imagine if I can buy a whole police station with a monthly price what will your ISI and tanks will do? Nothing off course.
I as a field reporter have seen and very much observed that if local police station, CID, CIA, special branch work properly 80% of the crimes and terrorism can be controlled. As you are very well aware terrorists and criminals cannot operate with the local logistical support. The only way terrorists and criminals survive when police SHO become complicit and turn a blind eye to whatever is going on. A SP or even DIG cannot question a junior SHO when they have paid for their appointment. Just for an example a PSP senior police officer was caught red handed with all the evidence of his involvement in land grabbing and earning billions was allowed to continue his job by the IG Punjab Police and Chief Minister because they both did not want to upset the PSP cadre of the elite police service group. The point is no politician can do corruption without police and section officer on his side as these are they people who deliver and execute.
I have been dealing a with a ‘land mafia’ criminal group for almost two years in Lahore, Pakistan and that gives me a great insight into the working of the mafia. Supposedly I had Governor Punjab, Chief Shabaz Sharif Minister Punjab, MPA and MNAs and few friends in media on my side but I still could not get my property back from the land mafia. The reason I was unsuccessful because all the above were part of the mafia syndicate and centre of all this mafia was POLICE.
Junior officers and front line police staff do not listen to the high officials starting from DIGs and beyond. They are the first line of defence of mafias and politicians. It is very easy for anyone to buy a whole police station for a small amount and then do whatever you like from harbouring, training, launching terrorists to smuggling drugs and prostitution. Terrorists don’t and can’t survive in the air, they need a place of safety to launch terrorism and only police can keep an eye on streets and towns not the air force or armed forces of Pakistan.
The corruption in police and their use as a brutal force have made them a liability to the state. The terrorist attacks on people and state institutions as well as properties have caused losses in billions. For example, attacks on the naval and air force basses as well as other government sites could be prevented if police were keeping an eye on the streets and towns. It was reported that when a large number Punjab police was deployed in Islamabad for the sit in protest of Imran Khan almost 45% crime rate fall in Punjab. Someone said: if we disband this police we can have almost 90% crime disappear. It is an interesting study. I think police need more reform and attention than Madrassas?
Politicians want Pakistan Army to protect them from all threats internal and external as well as conduct elections, help in floods and earthquakes etc. but they will not improve in civil administrations, hospitals and roads, rail networks. They want Pakistan Army to behave like Police and serve them and their kids like some watchmen and also sort out opponents. They don’t think Pakistan army is their institution, they talk about it in third person and are part of military undermining and demonising plots.
By involving the armed forces of Pakistan into civilians matters like local policing is actually serving an enemy agenda: –
(a) A soldier is off his professional border post
(b) soldier is too far from the border where he is supposed to be
(c) it gives politicians an excuse to blame the armed forces for everything goes wrong.
(d) And finally it thins down the military capability.
Asif Ali Zardari followed that policy and appointed most corrupt people on the high positions. Nawaz Sharif is continuing with the policy of corruption and incompetence. He is not appointing necessary people at all like foreign minister and defence minister.
To prove the above point all should be seen in the context of a statement by A S Dalit former chief of Indian intelligence agency RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) said, ‘why kill them when you can make them corrupt’.
